We only need to look at the life of Jesus if we desire lessons on works. His life is an object lesson. He is the “the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6. His life was a string of incessant labour. At the age of 12, He became aware of His relationship with God – and His mission – and even at that age, without reservations – He set Himself to work.

“Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. His parents didn’t know what to think. “Son,” his mother said to him, “why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been frantic, searching for you everywhere.””

Luke 2:46-48 NLT

““But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.”

Luke 2:49, 51 NLT

When His mission started in earnest, Jesus worked so hard, and was so busy, that they hardly had time even to eat their meals.

“Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.”

Mark 6:31 NLT

We will have a look at few Scriptures and see His amazing attitude to work:

“We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.”

John 9:4 NLT

“Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.”

John 4:34 NLT

“But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.””

John 5:17 NLT

“But I have a greater witness than John—my teachings and my miracles. The Father gave me these works to accomplish, and they prove that he sent me.”

John 5:36 NLT

“For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.”

John 6:38 NLT

“Jesus replied, “I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.”

John 10:25 NLT

“John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.””

Matthew 11:2-5 NLT

“And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.””

John 8:29 NLT

“I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”
